Reid Techniques of Interviewing is the most widely used approach to questioning suspects in the world.  They have done training for Police Departments in Boston, Chicago, Cincinnati, Dallas and even the Texas Rangers.  The FBI, IRS, the Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps and the Navy have used the services of their company.  It is not just for questioning students but for dealing with teachers or other practical situations.  Joseph Buckley is the presenter and he is very adept at keeping it simple and clear.  He uses actual video interviews of witnesses, suspects and criminals who have committed crimes as serious as murder to give credibility to his workshop.

Mr. Buckley goes over a variety of verbal and nonverbal interview techniques like: where to sit, where to stand, and the placement of subjects in the room.  By the end of the day participants will be able to recognize many of the verbal and nonverbal aspects of the guilty party.  Some of the techniques are familiar and part of the daily interview routine.  It is always good to know that research supports your actions.  There is a wealth of information in his presentation that will improve your success rate and relieve some of the stress.
