MASSP is working with Edu-Safe LLC to provide programs for schools to help meet the need to have anit-bullying policies in place. Beginning September 1, 2007, all school districts in the State of Missouri must have adopted an anti-bullying policy, and all district employees will be required to report any incidents of bullying for which they have firsthand knowledge. As a result, we recommend each school district provide professional development to staff related to recognizing the various forms of bullying and expectations for reporting. MASSP has partnered with Edu-Safe LLC to provide staff development to schools across Missouri on this important topic. Judy Brunner and Dennis Lewis are nationally recognized authors and consultants specializing in bullying prevention and intervention training. Their training DVD, School House Bullies - Preventative Strategies for Professional Educators, is currently utilized in schools across the United States for educating staff to recognize and appropriately respond to bullying behaviors.
