The Missouri Association of Secondary School Principals (MASSP) is hosting a series of one day regional “Aspiring Principals' Workshops” 8 for individuals interested in learning more about the principalship. These workshops are co-sponsored by the eight MASSP districts and facilitators will be practicing superintendents, principals and assistant principals from throughout Missouri. A wide variety of activities will include discussions on the qualities and characteristics of effective principals, in-basket activities, expectations of today’s principals, and what superintendents look for when hiring a principal. During these workshops participants can expect to:
  • Become familiar with the many dimensions of the principalship.
  • Through a variety of activities explore some of the challenges principals face each day.
  • Be informed of the Interstate School Leaders Licensure Consortium (ISLLC) standards for school leaders.
  • Have the opportunity to network with experienced practicing principals and assistant principals.
  • Examine and affirm one’s professional talents and interests.
